The physics department at St. Vincent College offers a wide range of courses. Courses at the introductory level are designed to satisfy part of the core curriculum science requirement. Upper level courses are offered in more specialized areas of physics such as quantum mechanics, nuclear physics, and optics. The department also offers independent study courses which may be tailored to the interests, desires, and needs of individual students.

The small size of the school and the department result in a close relationship between faculty and students. In the Physics Department at St. Vincent College, students are not simply a number but rather a name, a face, and often a collaborator on research. Upper level classes are often small, resulting in much more attention to the individual needs of the students, whether it be additional help with background material or more challenging problem assignments. The faculty in the Physics Department are always ready and willing to provide any assistance they can both in and outside of the classroom.
